PGA H.O.P.E. (standing for Helping Our Patriots Everywhere) saw over 400 program graduates and grew to five additional locations throughout CNY over the last year. They expect to surpass last year's numbers this year, and Usherwood is a proud sponsor of their efforts to improve the lives of veterans in the community.

“Usherwood is proud to support CNY’s section of PGA HOPE in their efforts to make local veteran’s lives easier to navigate. With many of our staff having served our country, this cause is very near and dear to the Usherwood family.”

-Lauren Usherwood, Business Development Executive at Usherwood Office Technology

Employees had the opportunity to pair up with some of the program graduates to golf and get to know some veterans from the community. Veterans showcased their skills they developed through PGA Hope Professionals trained in adaptive golf and military cultural competency.

As a nationwide initiative, PGA HOPE’s mission is to foster physically and emotionally healthier veteran community led by PGA expert coaches. The six-to-eight-week curriculum is designed to leverage golf as a means of helping veterans enhance their overall wellbeing.

As a flagship of PGA America’s overarching PGA REACH program designed to positively impact youth, military, and diverse populations, PGA HOPE currently has over 215 programs across the US, and serves more than 7,000 vets nationwide.

Golf instruction is free to veterans through the program, and many participants have raved about the therapeutic benefits of the program. For some, it helped ease the transition back into civilian life after serving overseas. For others, it has helped them feel connected to their communities and fellow veterans.
